PaxCloudVPN is currently in BETA and is provided as a NON-COMMERCIAL, EXPERIMENTAL service for testing and educational purposes only. This service is NOT monetized, has NO subscription fees, and is operated as a personal portfolio/learning project. By using this service, you acknowledge that this is not a commercial offering and is subject to change or discontinuation at any time without notice.
1. Introduction
PaxCloudVPN ("we," "our," or "the service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information when using our beta VPN service.
This service is operated as a non-commercial beta project and is NOT a registered business entity. There is no company, no revenue, and no monetization. This is a personal technical project.
2. No-Logging Policy
We maintain a strict no-logging policy for VPN traffic:
- We do NOT log: Your browsing history, traffic data, DNS queries, connection timestamps, bandwidth usage, or IP addresses while connected to the VPN
- We do NOT track: Websites you visit, files you download, or any content you access through the VPN
- We do NOT store: Session information, connection logs, or metadata about your VPN usage
3. Data We Collect
3.1 Account Information (Minimal)
- Email address - Required for beta signup and account recovery only
- Password (hashed) - Stored using bcrypt encryption, we cannot see your actual password
- Account creation date - Timestamp of when you created your account
3.2 Device Configuration Data
- WireGuard public keys - Required for VPN connection configuration
- Device labels - Optional names you give to your devices (e.g., "My Laptop")
3.3 Security & Audit Logs
- Authentication attempts - Login/signup events with timestamp and IP address (retained for security purposes)
- Admin actions - If administrative actions are taken on your account (e.g., device revocation)
- Rate limit violations - If you exceed rate limits (e.g., too many login attempts)
Note: These logs are for security, abuse prevention, and debugging only. They are NOT sold or shared with third parties.
3.4 Beta Feedback (Optional)
- Name, region, device count, and notes you provide during beta signup
- This data is voluntary and used only to improve the service
4. How We Use Your Data
- Account Management: To create and manage your account
- VPN Service: To provision WireGuard configurations and maintain your VPN connection
- Security: To prevent abuse, spam, and unauthorized access
- Service Improvement: To fix bugs and improve service quality during beta
- Communication: To send critical service updates (beta is winding down, service changes, etc.)
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to advertisers or third parties
- Use your data for marketing purposes
- Share your data with law enforcement unless legally required (see below)
- Track your activity for profit or analytics
5. Data Storage & Security
- Database: User data is stored in an encrypted production database
- Sessions: Session data is stored securely with 7-day expiration
- Passwords: Hashed with industry-standard encryption (12 rounds), we cannot recover your original password
- Encryption: All web traffic uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Access Control: Database and server access is restricted and monitored
6. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active
- Audit logs: Retained for 90 days for security purposes
- VPN traffic: NOT logged or retained at all (zero retention)
- Beta feedback: Retained for the duration of the beta program
7. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Server Hosting: Our servers are hosted on cloud infrastructure (provider not disclosed for security)
- DNS Resolution: You may use any DNS resolver you choose when connected to the VPN
We do NOT use:
- Google Analytics or tracking scripts
- Advertising networks
- Social media pixels
- Third-party cookies
8. Information Accuracy & Disclaimers
Our website and service may display certain informational data to users, including but not limited to:
- IP address and geolocation information (city, region, country)
- Cyber crime statistics and security threat information
- Network status and performance metrics
- General security advisories and recommendations
8.1 No Warranty of Accuracy
IMPORTANT: While we strive to provide accurate information, we make NO WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any information displayed on our website or service, including:
- IP Geolocation Data: Location data is provided by third-party APIs and may be inaccurate, outdated, or approximate. Your actual location may differ from what is displayed.
- Cyber Crime Statistics: Crime statistics are approximations based on publicly available government data and third-party sources. These numbers may be outdated, incomplete, or not reflect current conditions. We are not responsible for the accuracy of such statistics.
- Security Threat Information: Security advisories and threat assessments are general in nature and may not apply to your specific situation.
8.2 Limitation of Liability
PaxCloud and its operators shall NOT BE LIABLE for any damages, losses, or consequences arising from:
- Reliance on any information displayed on our website or service
- Inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in displayed data
- Third-party data sources or APIs that provide information to our service
- Decisions made based on information provided by our service
By using this service, you acknowledge and agree that:

9. Cookies & Tracking
- Session cookies: Required for authentication (stored in your browser, expires after 7 days)
- No tracking cookies: We do not use cookies for advertising or analytics
10. Legal Compliance & Requests
As a non-commercial beta project operated by an individual:
- We may be required to comply with valid legal requests (subpoenas, court orders)
- Due to our no-logging policy, we have minimal data to provide even if requested
- We cannot provide VPN traffic logs because we do not collect them
- We may provide account email and signup timestamp if legally compelled
We will resist overly broad or unjustified requests to the extent legally possible.

This service is operated from the United States. By using PaxCloudVPN, you consent to the transfer of your data to the U.S. for processing and storage.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the beta program evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
